5 Days A Week

Hey everybody. Its Qistina here and I actually wanted to share with you guys a something which has now been apart of me and I've been doing it half of my life. Some of you may know this but some don't. So i'll be sharing it today with you guys.

I am a national athlete representing our country in the sport Tenpin Bowling. I know I know "wow you play for Malaysia" or "Fuyoo, wakil Malaysia. Main untuk Negara. Gempak gilaa". These are what I get half of the time but half of the time its not so great. Some underestimate the capabilities of what we can do. Also people look down on sportsman and I don't really understand why. So for those of you who think we just go to the bowling alley under the air conditioner. I'll be sharing a few things that we national athletes do.

 

So i'll lay some details for you on what we usually do for five days a week. First off our training sessions are two hours a day from 5pm-7pm. Then before training we have to attend our gym sessions in Bukit Jalil, MSN Jungle Gym. Yes yes I get. "Why do you guys need to go to the gym for your sport, you only roll the ball". My teammates and also question that tons of times but gym is for us to maintain our stamina and the ability to handle long houred games.

We also need to get our fitness tests done, fat test, psychology classes. Everything you name it. For the better of ourselves so that we could bring up our countries name. You may say that we only bowl and go to the gym. But that's not the case, we athletes need to go to school too. Education is also very important in our lives. Its just sports, but we try two balance both and that is the hard part.

 

There's also one other thing that I want to share. One of the privileges that we get is to travel all around for international tournaments. I would have never traveled if it was not for bowling. And bowling has thought me so much. Not just in sports but in life as well. I don't think I will be what I am if it was not for this sport. And I don't think I will experience anything like this out there. With the people that I meet and the people that I am surrounded by I will never regret one bit.
